Smart Switch App a Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: To begin with you need the smart switch app installed on both phones.
Step 2: Open the smart switch app on both phones.
Step 3: Bring the devices within 50 cm of each other.
Step 4: Select your old device
Tip: make sure both your devices are connected to wifi.
Step 5: Set the device as:
– Sending device
– Receiving device
Step 6: Tap CONNECT on the sending device
Tip: The devices are connecting through audio. So make sure you are in a quiet environment.
Step 7: You can select all or select specific content you want to be transferred such as:
- S Memo
- Call logs
Tip: if you sync your contacts or calendar through Google cloud you can deselect the box, because the data will be already transferred.
Step 8: When you selected the content of your choice press the send button.
Step 9: A popup will appear on your receiving device, to accept press the receive button and press the activate button to activate the application. The devices keep you updated about how much minutes are left for the transfer and how many procent is already transfered.
Step 10: When the transfer is completed press the finish button.
On your sending device you can see the estimated total size of sending data and the available space on your receiving device. With the new version it’s also possible to transfer data from your SD-card or select specific documents.
Smart switch mobile requirements
- An Android mobile device with Android OS version 4.0 (device can quickly and easily be upgraded at any mobile phone retailer). or later and Smart Switch Mobile installed.
- iOS devices with an iCloud backup or transfer via Micro USB to USB adapter (OTG cable method)
- Galaxy device with Android OS version 4.1.2 or later
- Smart Switch Mobile app installed
